Don’t you just love local neighborhood farmers markets? Personally, I’m a huge fan of eating fresh and healthy as well as supporting local businesses, so I’m always excited for the weather to warm up so the farmers markets can open!
The Tucker Farmers Market is small, but it makes it more personal than some of the larger ones… the farmers and artisans have more time to talk with you and you don’t feel rushed when trying all the yummy samples!
If you live in the Tucker area and haven’t gotten the chance to check it out yet, definitely do! It’s happening every Thursday from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm in Freemason Square (2333 Main Street). Here’s a look at some of what you can expect:
Pure Bliss Organics
Pure Bliss Organics serves up organic granola, tasty energy bars, and gourmet nuts. Be sure to try the Coconut Honey Almonds!
Straight From the Backyard
Strawberries. Lots and lots of strawberries. They had other things too, but I have to admit, I got a little distracted by these gorgeous berries. Check out this Loganville based farm on Facebook!
Circle M Farm
I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves: local, fresh, and beautiful produce. Be sure to check them out on Facebook!
Balms away creates all natural insect repellent balms, soaps, and sprays and they smell wonderful! Who knew?! Check them out online.
Mac the Cheese
Gourmet mac and cheese? Yes please! To find out where they’ll be next, follow them on Facebook!
The Pup Truck
When you start topping hot dogs with ingredients like bacon jam or kimchi, I’m sold. I hope I see these guys again! To see where they’ll be today, find them on Facebook.
Dog Bites Bakery
These ladies are offering all natural dog treats that look good enough for their humans to eat!
Aside from the fact that this sauce is super good, these young men are quiet the characters. Austin Sinclair considers himself a “Condiment Hybridizing Engineer” and has the awards to back it up! Check them out online.
Now, I’m on a diet. But if I wasn’t… those danishes would be mine. All the samples were wonderful and I actually saw a couple friends of mine listening to the music and snacking on some of Annie’s sourdough they had just bought, so it was definitely a hit! Check her out on Facebook!
Fig & Co. Mercantile
The brownies and scones offered by Fig & Co. Mercantile were to die for! Check them out online.
Mad Mama’s Gourmet Soups
These soups were beyond delicious and all natural. If you start trying samples it’ll be tough to decide which ones to take home! Be sure to check them out online!
Island Spiced Bakes & Bites
These ladies were serving up home-cooked Caribbean food, package in individual servings and ready for the freezer. How convenient?! I tried the curry chickpeas and they were out of this world. Check them out on Facebook to see what other Farmers markets they frequent!
Not only are David’s pickles and chow chow amazing, but he is a riot! He’s super passionate about his work and is a true Tucker native. Be sure to chat him up while you’re checking out the samples- I love his pickled okra! Find him online.
These all natural drinks are unique and tasty. If you love ginger as much as I do, be sure to try the Ginger Beer Drink. It’s spicy and delicious! Check her out online.
You can get more information from the Tucker Farmer’s Market Facebook Page and from their Website. There is different live music every week, so check there to see who is playing today!
