My kitchen is one of those parts of the house that has the potential to be fantastic (its a great layout), but I just don’t have the finances to give it the TLC it needs. My appliances are old, outdated, and, quite frankly, ugly. The laminate counters and linoleum floors are no treat either. I know it’ll be a while before I can afford to change any of this (I hope to do it all in the next year), so in the meantime I’ve got to work with what I have.
This fridge… Oh, this fridge. Cream colored, old, no ice maker… but it works just fine, so I know replacing it isn’t a priority right now. That’s where this comes in…
Anyone who loves to craft knows washi tape. If you don’t, a quick Pinterest search will show you thousands of projects you can do with this inexpensive but brilliant invention.
I bought 5 rolls of this, and got to work on the fridge. If I couldn’t afford to replace it, I could at least make it funky! First, wipe down the fridge really well. Then, just put the tape of however you want! I used a pen knife to clean up the edges of my design. Again, a quick Pinterest or Google search will turn up lots of designs you could do with washi tape. I’ve seen this done on all sorts of appliances- refrigerators, washers and dryers, ovens… Here’s how the fridge went!
Love the design
Lovely idea! That color fits so well! 😀
