This oven baked method gives you boldly flavored blackened salmon in just minutes!  No smoked up kitchen or ultra high heat is needed.

Ingredients:  Smoked Paprika Onion Powder Garlic Powder Oregano Cayenne Pepper Salt Black Pepper Vegetable Oil

STEP 1

Mix all the dry ingredients and set aside. This is your blackened seasoning.  Tip: You can also use store bought seasoning.

STEP 2

Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels and then brush lightly with oil.

STEP 3

Sprinkle both sides with the dry seasoning and pat with fingertips. This ensures that the seasoning sticks to the fish.

STEP 4

Lightly oil a heavy skillet and preheat it in a 400 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. This is how you replicate the traditional blackening method.

STEP 5

Add salmon to skillet and bake for 8 minutes. Flip and cook 4-5 minutes or until your desired level of doness. .
