The refrigerator pickling method makes this spicy pickled okra recipe quick and easy.  The amount of heat can be dialed up or down as you wish.

Besides okra and water, you'll need:  Garlic Bay Leaves Fresh Dill White Vinegar Salt Sugar Black Peppercorns Red Pepper Flakes

STEP 1

Place garlic cloves and bay leaf in pint jars.

STEP 2

Place okra pods in jars alternating stem up and stem down. Add sprigs of fresh dill.

STEP 3

Bring water, vinegar, salt and sugar to a boil.

STEP 4

Add peppercorns and red pepper flakes. Stir to make sure salt and sugar are dissolved.

STEP 5

Pour vinegar solution over okra and close tightly.  Refrigerate 5 days to 2 months.

Serve with a bloody mary or on a charcuterie board.
