Ingredients

  • 2 russet potatoes cut into ¾ inch cubes
  • cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning optional
  • 1-2 teaspoon salt* plus 1 tablespoon for soaking potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Put cubed potatoes in a small bowl and add enough cold water to cover them. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and let soak 15 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
  • Transfer potatoes to a plate and spray all over with cooking spray**. Season with remaining ingredients (or check out other suggestions below!).
  • Move potatoes to air fryer and set it to 400. Cook for 5 minutes and then toss. Repeat every 5 minutes until potatoes are cooked and crispy (15-30 minutes).

Notes

For a different twist, try these seasoning options instead of the ones above:
  • plain with salt & pepper
  • Creole or Cajun seasoning like Tony Chachere's
  • cumin, chili powder, salt & pepper
  • seasoning salt like Lowry's
  • Montreal Steak seasoning
*If using a seasoning that contains salt (like Tony Chachere's you will need to cut back on the salt accordingly).
**We recommend using the type of cooking spray without propellants.
