Spicy Chicken Sandwich with Jalapeno-Cilantro Yogurt Sauce

This family favorite can't be beat in terms of flavor! The seasoning on the chicken has just enough kick to keep it interesting and the cooling yogurt sauce adds a light, summery feel to the sandwiches.

  • 1 T olive oil
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ½ t kosher salt
  • 1 t cumin
  • ¼ t cayenne
  • ¼ c plain yogurt
  • ¼ c mayonaise
  • ¼ c cilantro chopped
  • 2 T lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 jalapeno diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¼ t salt
  • 4 onion rolls toasted
  • 1 small handful of greens for each sandwich


  • Combine salt, cayenne, and cumin. Sprinkle evenly on chicken. Heat oil over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown (about 7 - 8 minutes on each side).
  • While chicken is cooking, combine yogurt, mayo, salt, lime juice, garlic, jalapenos, and cilantro. Combine well and spread on toasted buns.
  • Add chicken, a handful of baby spinach, and enjoy! (Yield 4 sandwiches)
