Cabbage and Apple Slaw

Sara
This cabbage and apple slaw is a quick, no-cook side dish with diced apple, a touch of honey, and a hint of nutmeg. It's a fall favorite that comes together in about 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces cole slaw mix
  • ½ cup apple diced
  • cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon nutmeg optional

Instructions

  • Toss the diced apple with the apple cider vinegar in a small bowl to prevent browning.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, honey, black pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
  • Add the coleslaw mix and the apple mixture to the dressing. Toss until everything is evenly coated. Serve immediately, or chill for 30 minutes for the flavors to meld.

Notes

The nutmeg is optional, but it adds a bit of warmth that pairs really well with the apple. I never leave it out.
