Rich, creamy peanut butter pie is a favorite in our house and we know it will be in yours! With peanut butter, cream cheese, cool whip and an Oreo crust, how could it be anything but delicious?
If you've ever had peanut butter pie before, it was probably pretty similar to this one. It seems they all have basically the same ingredients- peanut butter, cream cheese, whipped topping, and powdered sugar. There are variations in the amounts, though, and we think we've found the perfect proportions.
Not to mention that crust... you can make the crust any way you want, but crushed Oreo's? Winner!
Now when I tell you this peanut butter pie disappeared fast, I'm vastly understating the situation. At least one sweets-lover in my house asked, "did you take picture of this yet?" only to find most of the pie already eaten by other sweets-lovers in the house!
Another dessert eater called from the road to demand a piece was saved for him... I'm sorry to report that he'll have to wait until the next time I make it if he ever wants his slice.

I can't quite decide if peanut butter pie is a summer dish because of the cold creaminess of it all, or a fall dish since the Reese's on top make me think of Halloween.
I do know that falls in the South can be almost as hot as the summers, though, so I'm always happy to spend minimal time with the oven on in either season. You do have to turn it on for just a few minutes to set the crust for the peanut butter pie, but after that this is a refrigerator only recipe! If you love no bake recipes like we do, you'll want to try this banana pudding recipe.
This peanut butter pie really doesn't even need a topping, but we used fresh whipped cream and miniature Reese's cups to dress it up. We've also seen the whipped cream spread out over the top and sprinkled with crushed candy or chocolate shavings, or drizzled with chocolate or caramel syrup and it always looks divine.
If you have some peanut butter left over, these Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies are always a hit.
