    Honey Bourbon Lemonade

You just can’t get more southern than a cocktail called Honey Bourbon Lemonade. It’s absolutely perfect for any warm weather gathering and so easy to make!

    Honey Bourbon Lemonade

Where did the idea to make Honey Bourbon Lemonade come from?

I threw this fun cocktail together recently to take to a cookout at a friend’s house. I wanted to make something summery just using what I had around the house. Lord knows I had some bourbon, so drinks it is!

We’re big believers in using whatever is available. That comes from a combination of factors. First of all, we don’t like to waste food. In our family we’ve been influenced by being children (or grandchildren) of those who grew up in the great depression. Using whatever was on hand was a matter of survival. That’s how a lot of Southern food came about!

Many times in our recipes you’ll find that we give you alternative ingredients or suggest that you experiment with what you have. What often happens is that a new flavor combination will be discovered… Like Honey Bourbon Lemonade!

I happened to have a gallon of Simply Lemonade, so I mixed in bourbon and honey and added in the sliced lemons and mint just to fancy it up. The result was light, refreshing, and a huge crowd-pleaser; my friends couldn’t get enough of it!

Another great use of what you have on hand to try sometime is Simple Syrups for Cocktails. We make them with fruit jam and it couldn’t be easier!

This looks like a great drink recipe. I like recipes that can make a pitcher. You don’t want to step away in the middle of a conversation to make more drinks. 🙂

The mint really makes this! Such a perfect summer cocktail to sip in the garden whilst reading a good book!

This is delish! When summer hits I love sitting on the porch with a fresh cocktail, and this one is going to make the regular rotation! It’s refreshing, not too sweet, and the perfect amount of bourbon!
